If you are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi festival at home or in others home or community celebrations, then dont see it as an idol. See it as Divine at your home or near you.
This is my personal opinion that Ganeshji is blessing in all the ways.
One can request VK to help the family members to RECEIVE the blessings happily
Or you can hold VK in your palms and pray to Shri Ganesha to bless you what you wish in your own words
While you are seeking blessings from Divine pray in your own words rather than getting into formalities of words. VK is your friend and so is Shri Ganesha.
